CM Update for 4/5/09

Zephaniah 3:17 - The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.

This is currently my favorite verse in the Bible. It is so good to know that God loves me so much that He protects, rejoices, sings, and quiets me. How can it be that one who knows every part of me loves me that greatly? Thank you Father for Your love and acceptance.

In Jesus,

Phil

Weekly Updates:
  • Thank you to all who attended Equipping for Ministry. Here are a few notes:
  1. All future CM meetings will have sign ups so we can manage the food costs. You can sign up by sending me an e-mail or giving me a note.
  2. We reviewed the priority that God puts on kids and the work we are doing. Look up Matt 10:42, Matt 18:1-6, Matt 18:14, Mar 9:42, and Luk 17:2.
  3. We talked about the importance of being a support to parents. Parents: Exodus 12:26-27 Deuteronomy 4:9-10 Deuteronomy 6:4-9 Deuteronomy 11:18-27 Deuteronomy 32:44-47 Proverbs 22:6, 15 Proverbs 23:13-14 Proverbs 29:17 Fathers: Psalms 78:3-8 Proverbs 3:12 Proverbs 13:24 Proverbs 19:18 Proverbs 23:24 Isaiah 38:19 Malachi 4:5&6 Ephesians 6:4 I Timothy 3:4-5 Mothers: Proverbs 14:1 Proverbs 31:27-30 Titus 2:4-5.
  4. Because of the importance of the parents in the life of the child, we must make a great effort to explain to them what we are teaching them in their classes and give them tools to teach their children.
  • Next up is our annual CM Conference. This is very important for all. Pastor Ron will be sharing with us along with a number of workshops to help you grow in ministering. The cost is $5 for a continental breakfast and lunch.

CM Update for 3/29/09

Habakkuk 2:4 - Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by faith.

The proud man does not trust God. He trusts himself to accomplish the tasks at hand. His faith is placed in himself. The humble man puts his trust (faith) in God. In so doing, the man or woman pleases the Father because he is saying, "Father I need You to go about this life." This faith in God justifies a man. It moves God's hand to justify the sinner.
Keep the right perspective this week; realize that the Father is whom you need to go about life. Don't get caught trusting in yourself. Live your life by faith in the Father.

In Jesus,

Phil

CM Update for 3/22/09

Psalm 103:2-5 - Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

As Christians, we need to continually remind ourselves of the great benefits of being a child of God. It is so very easy to take in our current circumstances and to forget the bigger picture. The bigger picture is our position in Christ. We are sons and daughters of the Father. We are heirs together with Christ. His benefits far outweigh our circumstances.
Father, help us to remember all Your benefits. We bless You with all our souls.

In Jesus,

Phil
