Christ, by His blood, has made us friends of God. That is the good news of Jesus...the Gospel. This is the news that gives meaning to our lives, that makes all we sacrifice, all we suffer, all we love, to having purpose and eternal value. This is a remarkable thing for us, and all we need do is to remain faithful to the hope that we heard. If you start feeling frustrated with life, remember the Gospel. Preach it to yourself, remind yourself of the glorious news of Jesus!
This is also the news we want to pass on to the children. We want to do this in a way that will help them continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the Gospel that you heard and that they are hearing. The best way to do this is to teach them in a way that makes the Gospel attractive...teach them in a way that draws them to Jesus. Do you remember what drew you to Christ? Not who brought you to church, but what caused you to give your life to Jesus...teach that. Thank you for all you do to serve the Lord and our children.
In the Grace of Christ,
Pastor Alan
