Daniel 2:20-21a -- Daniel answered and said: “ Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; Wow, I can't believe it is October already! I love when the seasons begin to change...especially from summer to fall. Fall is an incredible time of year! The air begins to get chilly and the leaves begin to change into all sorts of beautiful colors. It is time to break out the jackets, sweaters, and snuggy clothes and the holidays are just right around the corner. It is truly a great time of year. This fall don't let the pressure of the upcoming holidays and the busyness of life keep you from enjoying the fall season and the wisdom and might of God during this time.

Romans 12:12 -- Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Three simple phrases that can carry us through anything. Paul says we are to rejoice in hope. That hope obviously being the eternal life that is laid up for us in Christ. We are to keep our eyes on the life to come and rejoice that we have been blessed with the privilege of being God's children.
...patient in tribulation...Paul is referring not to a passive withdrawal and waiting, but to an active continuing in the work of the Lord. He is saying when tribulation comes, don't use it as a reason to quit the work of the Lord, but be patient through the tribulation, knowing God will use it to increase your faith and effectiveness in His work.
...be constant in prayer...finally, we are to keep acknowledging, turning to and praising God for every and in every aspect of our lives. It is through this communion with God that we will be able to keep the rejoicing vibrant and the patience strong. If we can do these three things when times are tough, we will show the marks of true Christianity to all!

1 Peter 2:9 -- But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
This is the purpose of our salvation...to proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Too often, however, we find ourselves lacking this in our lives. Several issues can cause this, a busy schedule, a traumatic experience, sin, or a simple failure to dwell upon what the Lord has done for us. Take some time today to remind yourself of what the Lord has done for you...what He has called you out of and into and let your soul proclaim His excellencies!

1 Peter 1:3-7 -- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ...
I felt I needed to include a large portion of this passage from Peter. It is an encouragement to us when things get hard. Peter is encouraging us to stay strong in our faith through difficulties in life. It is from these verses that I remind myself what I am to have faith in...the promises of God. His promise to never leave us or forsake us...to complete the work He has begun in us...to adopt us as His children...to wipe away every tear and hurt...to easy our burden...to relieve our anxieties...to provide for our needs...to cleanse us from unrighteousness...to forgive our sins...to bind up the broken hearted...to love us to the end.
Remember the promises of God to us in Christ and strengthen your faith in them through your difficult times, no matter how large or small they are.
