CM Update 9/05/10

1 Peter 1:3-7 -- Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ⁴ to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, ⁵ who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. ⁶ In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, ⁷ that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ...

I felt I needed to include a large portion of this passage from Peter. It is an encouragement to us when things get hard. Peter is encouraging us to stay strong in our faith through difficulties in life. It is from these verses that I remind myself what I am to have faith in...the promises of God. His promise to never leave us or forsake us...to complete the work He has begun in us...to adopt us as His children...to wipe away every tear and hurt...to easy our burden...to relieve our anxieties...to provide for our needs...to cleanse us from unrighteousness...to forgive our sins...to bind up the broken hearted...to love us to the end.

Remember the promises of God to us in Christ and strengthen your faith in them through your difficult times, no matter how large or small they are.
