Psalm 5:3 -- O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.
Psalm 51 tells us the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contrite heart. David is telling us that as we cry out to God in the morning, humbling ourselves in His sight and pleading our cause, we then need only to watch for His deliverance.
We serve a mighty God, who because of His great love for us, offered Himself to Himself for our sins...providing for us the very thing we need most in life. If we serve a God like this, who did not fail to withhold his very Son, why should we ever doubt that He would withhold the things He knows we need in this life.
Whatever it is you may need from the Lord today, hesitate not to bring yourself humbly at his feet, then ask, yield, believe, and watch Him show Himself strong on your behalf.

Psalm 69:30-31 -- I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. This will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.
More than acts of service, the Lord desires to hear our praise of thanksgiving...magnifying His name through the song of our hearts. Sometimes I am reminded to pause in the work of the ministry and reflect on the how thankful I am for all the Lord has done for me. It is then I find that the work of the ministry becomes the song of my heart, and it pleases the Lord more than a great act of service done from a "got to get it done" mentality.
Take time today to reflect on how thankful you are for all the Lord has done for you, and use that thankful heart to minister to His precious children.

2 Samuel 7:11(b) -- Moreover, the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house.
I love this word from God. David had in his heart to build a house in which the Lord could dwell. The Lord then tells David that he will not build the Lord a house, but the Lord will build a house for David...a house that will remain forever.
What a great reminder from the Lord that He is not interested in what we can do for Him. We should never set out to accomplish things for the Lord, but instead recognize it is He who accomplishes things for us. It is He who equips us for the work of the ministry, it is He who gives us love for others, it is He who conforms us into the image of Christ so we can be a part of his plan to spread the gospel all over the world. Take time today to thank the Lord for the things He accomplishes in your life and ask Him how He would like to use you today to further His kingdom.
